Description
Alias consists of lots of cards, with 6 words written on each card. Each word has a number from 1 to 6. The words vary from very easy to very hard. Some consist of several words that define one thing (for example: "Silver medal").Alias is played in teams, usually teams of 2, though more people are allowed. The "explainer" changes every turn. Each team gets a pawn that represents it on the board. Their goal is to make it all the way across the board. Each time the pawn stops, one team member has to take cards from the deck without showing them to the other team members and explain the word on each card that has the same number as the space their pawn landed on. The sand timer is turned just before the team member starts explaining. You may look at the card and think about how to explain the word before the time starts running. The player has to get the other team member to say the word written on the card by using sentences that describe it. For example, if the word is "Silver medal", the player can say "something an athlete wins at the Olympic Games". But if the other team member only says "Medal", that's not correct. The first player then has to specify further what the clue might be. The second player can answer as many times as they like until the time runs out. If time runs out or the first player accidentally uses a word written on the card, the team loses its turn.
