The Fellowship of the Ring - Cooperative Trick-Taking Game

Description

The Fellowship of the Ring: Cooperative Trick-Taking Game unfolds over eighteen chapters that guide players through the events of the novel The Fellowship of the Ring. The chapters can be played in any order, but ideally you play them in sequence. In each chapter, each player takes on a different role – Frodo, Gandalf, Sam, Pippin, Farmer Maggot, etc. – and each character has a condition they must fulfil to pass the chapter and advance the story. Frodo, for example, must capture ring cards, while Pippin wants to take as few tricks as possible. As you progress through the chapters, new characters, items and challenges are introduced into the game. The deck consists of 37 cards, with one card set aside as "lost" in each hand. Whoever gets the One Ring becomes Frodo, and the other players then choose from the available characters based on their hand. The One Ring is the only trump in the game, but rings cannot be played at first until someone plays one of the opposite suit.In a two-player game, one hand of cards is dealt to a virtual player, with some cards face up and others face down. This player is assigned a character, and one of the human players will play cards for it based on which cards are free to play.In a one-player game, the player plays four hands of face-up cards, with each hand assigned a character and only a few cards available at a time. After playing a trick, you deal a new card to each hand. The English title of the game is The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – Trick-Taking Game.
