Description
Caesar & Cleopatra is a card-playing game in which players take on the roles of these two great leaders. Caesar wants Rome to invade Egypt, while Cleopatra wants Egypt to remain independent, and both try to influence Roman officials to support their goal.Players take turns sending their agents, playing numbered cards from 1 to 5 to influence one group of Roman officials: the Aediles, Quaestors, Senators, Praetorians and Censors. They can send fewer agents face down or more agents face up. In addition, they can play action cards, such as assassins that eliminate opposing agents or scouts that reveal face-down agents. Players can choose to refill their hand from either the agent deck or the action deck, but once one of the decks is empty, they no longer have access to those cards.After each player's turn, a card from the vote pile is revealed. The group of officials shown on the card casts its vote. The player with the most influence points next to that group gains one official from that group for their cause and then removes their strongest agent from that pile.The game ends when all the officials have chosen a side, and the player who has influenced the majority of them wins, with bonus points for majorities in each group and a few simple hidden goals.
