Description

The ship Destiny's Bounty is in danger: Villains are breaking in from all sides. In LEGO: NINJAGO – Destiny's Bounty Adventures each player chooses their own Ninja: Kai, Nya, Cole or Zane. You build the Ninja from real LEGO bricks and add new gear to them during the game. Serpents, pirates and even a bewildered postman await you along the way.

How to play LEGO: NINJAGO – Destiny's Bounty Adventures

The game is cooperative: you all win or lose together. On your turn you do three things. First you flip an Event Card. It brings in new Villains, moves the ones already on the ship, or places Mastery Tokens in the rooms. Then you move your Ninja as many rooms as it has Spinjitzu Tornadoes. Finally you clear the room: you collect the Mastery Tokens and defeat Villains if your strength is at least equal to theirs.

Defeated Villains and Mastery Tokens fill the Victory Track. Villains that reach the key parts of the ship fill the Villain Track. You win if the Victory Track fills up first.

Why you will like it

  • You can call Ninja from connecting rooms into your room and add up your strength. Together you defeat a Villain that is too strong for one.
  • Villains arrive on the ship face down. You only learn how strong they are when a Ninja enters the room.
  • When you cover certain spaces on the Victory Track, all Ninja gain a new Spinjitzu Tornado or a Potential Card. The card brings a special ability, such as moving through walls, and new LEGO gear that you really attach to your Ninja.
  • Each of the six adventures has its own story and new rules that you discover as you play. You start with Training, and the hardest one is labelled “Oh No!”.

Who is LEGO: NINJAGO – Destiny's Bounty Adventures for

The game is for 2 to 4 players aged 8 and up, and one adventure takes 30 to 45 minutes. It is medium-light in complexity, and players on BoardGameGeek like it best with two or three. Before your first game, take some time to sort the LEGO bricks. The rules suggest that the children do this while the adults read the rules.

Families and fans of the NINJAGO world who like to play together rather than against each other will enjoy it. If you are looking for a competitive game with a single winner, this is not the right choice.

Frequently asked questions

Is the game suitable for children and beginners? +
Yes. LEGO: NINJAGO – Destiny's Bounty Adventures is a cooperative game for ages 8 and up in which nobody is eliminated and nobody plays alone against the others. The first adventure is Training with only three cards, and new rules arrive gradually in the following ones.
Are the rules in Slovenian? +
Yes. They are also available on the Dotted Games website.
Can we play the same adventure more than once? +
Yes. You can play all six adventures several times and in any order. The Event Cards are shuffled every time and the Villains arrive on the ship face down, so no two games play out the same.
Can Villains defeat a Ninja? +
No. Villains cannot defeat Ninja. A Villain you do not defeat stays in the room and advances along its path at the next event.
Does a Ninja have to stay in a room with a Villain? +
Not always. If a Ninja enters a room with a Villain while moving, it must stop there. But if it starts its turn in such a room, it can leave for another room.
Can I collect Mastery Tokens if I do not defeat a Villain? +
Yes. When you clear a room, you collect all the Mastery Tokens in it, even if you defeat no Villain or if Villains stay in the room.
What do I do if a LEGO brick gets lost? +
Contact LEGO support on their website. The assembly sheet lists the numbers of all the bricks, so you can easily name the missing one.
What other LEGO board games are there? +
This is the third board game created together by LEGO and Asmodee. It was preceded by Brick Like This! and Monkey Palace.
