In the land of Terra Mystica, 14 different peoples live in seven landscapes, and each group is bound to its home environment, so to develop and grow they must terraform neighbouring landscapes into their home environment, competing with the other groups.Terra Mystica is a strategy game without any luck. Each player leads one of the 14 groups. With subtlety and skill, the player must try to rule as large an area as possible and develop that group's abilities. There are also four religious cults in which you can advance. For all this, each group has special skills and abilities.Players take turns carrying out their actions with the means available to them. Different buildings let players develop different resources. Dwellings provide more workers. Trading houses let players earn money. Strongholds unlock the group's special ability, and temples let you develop faith as well as your terraforming and shipping skills. Buildings can be upgraded: dwellings can be developed into trading houses; trading houses can develop into strongholds or temples; one temple can be upgraded to a sanctuary. Each group must also develop its terraforming skill and its boating skill to use the rivers. Proximity to other groups is a double-edged sword in Terra Mystica.
