Description
In the bleak darkness of the distant future, there is nothing but war.
Across the vast worlds of the Imperium of Man, in a galaxy torn apart by warp storms and ceaseless conflict, the armies of humanity fight for survival. Whilst the Imperium already stands on the brink of destruction, swarms of Tyranids emerge from the cold void between the stars. The Space Marines are the last line of defence between this ravenous cosmic threat and the besieged worlds of the Imperium.
Take your first steps into the 41st Millennium with this Warhammer 40,000 starter set. This box set is a great way to get to know this amazing hobby, as you’ll assemble and paint stunning models before playing your first games. It includes two sets of snap-together models (no glue required), a set of tools and paints, a game mat, handy guides, tokens and terrain markers, as well as all the dice and accessories you need to play. Choose the noble Space Marines or the swarming hordes of the Tyranids, hand control of the other army to a friend or family member, and embark on hours and hours of intense combat. If you’re thinking of giving Warhammer 40,000 a go, this is the perfect opportunity – and it’s also a great way to expand your existing collection.
This starter set includes:
1x 48-page softback handbook (Warhammer 40,000 Introductory Set Handbook) – Contains assembly instructions, an introduction to the rules and training missions to help you get to grips with the game quickly and easily.
16x Citadel plastic miniatures for glue-free assembly – This box contains two sets of miniatures to assemble, paint and play with. They are all designed for snap-together assembly, so you can get started with minimal effort. All miniatures come with matching bases, and the set includes:
5x Space Marines: Genetically enhanced warriors, created for war. Their already deadly skills are complemented by heavy armour that boosts their strength and endurance, and brutal weapons designed to utterly destroy any enemy.
5x Infernus Marines: Armoured infantry who use powerful flamethrowers to keep vast hordes of enemies at a safe distance.
11x Tyranids: Completely alien creatures from a distant galaxy, guided by a collective mind. Their sole aim is to devour all life, absorb its biomass and transform it into new, even more hideous creatures.
10x Termagants: Charging hordes of simple Tyranid creatures, armed with weapons that fire living organisms.
1x Ripper Swarm: Small beasts tasked with finishing off weakened enemies and stripping their bones.
1x double-sided game mat (30" x 22.4") – A foldable paper mat with different battlefield artwork on each side.
1x range ruler and 6x dice – These essential tools are used in Warhammer 40,000 for moving, shooting, close combat and other actions.
22x cardboard tokens and terrain markers – These elements represent walls, targets and activation tokens for tracking your turns.
1x Citadel Starter Clippers – The perfect tool for precisely removing model parts from their sprues.
1x Citadel Colour Starter Brush – An excellent all-purpose brush to help you prepare your miniatures for battle.
5x 12-millilitre Citadel Colour paints – The ideal shades for painting your models in the colours of the Ultramarines and the Leviathan Swarm, including:
1x Abaddon Black
1x Wraithbone
1x Balthasar Gold
1x Naggaroth Night
1x Macragge Blue
The miniatures in the set are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Colour paints for painting.
