Description
Roads, settlements, cities and knights, but without a board or pieces. In Catan Dice Game every player gets a sheet with the island of Catan and a pencil, and the resources come from dice instead of cards. Each of the six dice shows lumber, brick, wool, grain, ore and gold. Whatever you build, you draw on your own sheet.
How to play Catan Dice Game
On your turn you roll the dice up to three times. After each roll you set aside the ones you want to keep and reroll the rest. Then you build with your resources: a road costs lumber and brick, a knight ore, wool and grain, a settlement lumber, brick, grain and wool, and a city three ore and two grain. You circle what you built on your sheet and write down the points. If you build nothing, you write an X, which counts as minus two points.
After 15 turns everyone adds up their points and the player with the most points wins. On the other side of the sheet there is a second island with different rules, where the first player to collect 10 victory points wins.

Who is Catan Dice Game for
The game is for 1 to 4 players aged 7 and up and takes 15 to 30 minutes. It is easy to learn, and players like it best with two. Each player needs a pencil. It suits everyone who loves Catan but doesn't have time for a full game, and works as a first visit to the island.

What you might not like
The dice decide which resources you get and there is no trading between players, so it may not be the best fit for those who enjoy the negotiating most in Catan.
