Description
This time Bambi, Simba, Dumbo and Timon aren't waiting for you in a fairy tale, but on cards full of puzzles. In Cortex Disney Classic every card hides a new challenge: one time you look for the correct reflection, the next you follow a winding path or count which object is repeated. Whoever answers correctly first is one step closer to victory.
How to play Cortex Disney Classic
The youngest player turns over the top card of the stack and everyone looks at it at the same time. Whoever thinks they have the answer immediately places a hand on the card and says it. If it is right, they keep the card. If not, the card is discarded and that player cannot answer in the next round. The back of each card shows which puzzle comes next, so you know what to get ready for.
Two cards of the same type can be exchanged for a piece of the brain puzzle. The first player to complete their brain from four pieces wins.
Why you'll love it
- Eight types of puzzles, from finding the correct reflection to counting objects, so every card calls for a slightly different way of thinking.
- In the memory puzzle you cover the card with your hand and name the four characters on it. If you don't know their names, you can describe them, for example an elephant or a cat.
- The touch challenge: the other players pick one of the ten cards with a raised object for you, and you have ten seconds to work out by touch alone what is on it.
- A wrong answer costs you the next round, so you have to balance speed with careful thought.
Who is Cortex Disney Classic for
The game is played by two to six players, is suitable from age eight, and a game lasts 10 to 20 minutes. The rules are short and can be explained in a few minutes, which makes it an easy game for families, children's parties and anyone who enjoys solving quick puzzles. With two players, a card answered wrongly goes to the opponent. You can also combine the game with other Cortex Kids games.
What you might not like
The game is fast and competitive, so it may not suit those who prefer calmer games with more time to think. Since the fastest player wins the card, differences between younger and older players can be noticeable.
