Description
You flip cards one after another and hope that no number repeats. Flip 7 Deluxe is a push-your-luck game with a special deck that has more high numbers than low ones. The rules are so simple that you are playing within a minute, and the tension grows with every new card.
How to play Flip 7
The dealer deals everyone one face-up card, then goes around the table asking: one more or enough? If you take a card and get a number you already have, you are out of the round with no points. If you stop, you write down the total of your cards. Whoever collects seven different numbers gets 15 bonus points and immediately ends the round for everyone.
The deck also contains special cards. Score modifier cards add to your result or double it. Action cards can be given to anyone: Freeze stops a player immediately, Flip Three makes them take three cards in a row, and Second Chance saves you from one duplicate number. The game ends when someone reaches 200 points.
Why you'll love it
- The deck has one one, two twos, three threes and so on up to twelve twelves. High cards bring more points, but they are also easier to get twice.
- “One more!” is the most dangerous sentence in the game, and everyone at the table is cheering for you to say it.
- With Flip Three you can send another player into three risky cards, and with Freeze you stop them before they pull off a big round.
- Rounds are short, so even after going out you are quickly playing again.
Who is Flip 7 for
The game is for three or more players aged 8 and up, and a game lasts about 20 minutes. Players on BoardGameGeek like it best with five or six. You can explain the rules in a minute, which makes it great for parties, family gatherings and groups that are just getting into games. Luck decides almost everything, so it is not for those looking for a thoughtful strategy game. The action cards have short English names that are easy to remember.
Flip 7 Deluxe is the edition that comes in a box. Our shop also has Flip 7 in smaller, handier packaging and the standalone game Flip 7: With a Vengeance.
