Description
Dixit Odyssey takes you on a journey through dreamlike images, where every picture hides a story of its own. One picture, one clue and a lot of guessing: each round one of you is the storyteller, while the others try to work out which card they had in mind. The game takes up to 12 players, which makes it just right for large groups.
How to play Dixit Odyssey
The storyteller secretly chooses a card from their hand and gives a clue - a word, a sentence, a line from a song or even a sound. Every other player chooses a card of their own that comes closest to the clue. The storyteller shuffles the cards and lays them out on the board, and the others use two voting dials to guess which one is the storyteller's.
The clue must be neither too easy nor too hard: if everyone or no one guesses the card, the storyteller scores nothing. You also score points when others vote for your card. When someone reaches 30 points, the game ends and the player with the most points wins.
Why you'll love it
- Two votes: you vote for two cards and improve your chances, or put both on one and score more points.
- Every round you learn something about the other players - how they think and what reminds them of what.
- You pick your own card cleverly, so that it lures the others' votes and brings you extra points.
- 84 new cards illustrated by Marie Cardouat and Pierô, which you can mix with other Dixit cards.
Who is Dixit Odyssey for
The game is for 3 to 12 players aged 8 and up, it shines most with 6 players, and a game lasts about 30 minutes. The rules are simple and there is no text on the cards, so children and adults play together. Anyone who dislikes imaginative clues and “reading” the other players will enjoy it less.
You can mix the cards with the base game Dixit and with Dixit: Disney Edition, and the expansion Dixit: Quest brings new pictures as well.
