Description
Dixit opens windows onto dream worlds - this time, for the first time, onto the stories of Disney and Pixar. Dixit: Disney Edition brings 84 new cards illustrated by Natalie Dombois, while the rules are the same as in Dixit. If you already know it, you can start right away; if not, you will learn it in a few minutes.
How to play Dixit: Disney Edition
Everyone holds six cards. One player is the storyteller: they choose a card and give a clue for it - a word, a sentence, or even a sound or a gesture. Everyone else chooses the card from their own hand that fits the clue best and hands it in face down. The cards are shuffled and revealed, then you secretly vote with your voting dial on which one is the storyteller's.
The clue must be neither too easy nor too hard. If everyone or no one guesses the card, the storyteller gets nothing and the others get two points each. Otherwise the storyteller and those who guessed correctly get three points each. Every vote for the card you slipped in earns you one more point. The game ends when someone reaches 30 points.
Why you'll love it
- You look for a clue that only some will understand - and every time it tells you something about the people at the table.
- You score points even when you are not the storyteller: it is enough for your card to mislead the others.
- You can tie your clues to Disney stories or simply to what you see in the picture.
- There is no text on the cards, so children and adults play together.
Who is Dixit: Disney Edition for
The game is for 3 to 6 players aged 8 and up and lasts about 30 minutes. It is easy, and players on BoardGameGeek recommend it most with five or six. It will appeal to families, fans of Disney films and anyone who enjoys games of imagination without a winning strategy. The rules advise avoiding clues about the story if someone at the table does not know the characters. Anyone looking for a tactical game of calculation should choose something else. You can mix the cards with Dixit and Dixit Odyssey.
