Welcome to the elegant city of Florimelle, where work has begun on beautifying the city. In Fountains you become a master fountain maker who will transform Florimelle's gardens and squares by creating the most magnificent fountain the world has ever seen!Fountains is a "take and make" game in which each player starts with a round fountain that has a spout and room for four elements.On your turn, move one of the tokens 1–3 spaces clockwise around the central board, skipping occupied spaces, so that it lands on an empty space. Then take the top tile next to that token and add it to your board. You can expand outwards or upwards or both, but make sure you have a spout on the highest level and that water flows through all the lower levels, or you'll have dead zones that won't score. If you stop next to the small oval elements instead of a tile stack, choose one of these elements and add it to an empty space in your fountain.When someone lands on a green, blue or white space with a token of the matching colour, everyone scores points for the associated feature: lily pads, separate pools connected by a constant flow of water, and fish. (There are three kinds of fish, and the player who triggers fish scoring chooses which colour scores.) For each feature you score 1, 2, 3, etc. points if it is on the first, second, third, etc. level.When a player reaches the point threshold, everyone scores all three colours once more, plus end-game bonuses such as 2 points per coin icon and 4 points for a set of fish in all three colours.
