In Fresco, players are master painters restoring a fresco in a Renaissance church.Each round begins with the players deciding what time they want to get up. The earlier you get up, the earlier you take your turn and the better your options – but get up too early too often and your apprentices will become unhappy and won't work as efficiently. They'd much rather sleep!Then players decide what to do on their turn and assign their apprentice workforce to various tasks. You'll need to buy paints, mix colours, work on painting the fresco, earn money (which you'll need to buy the paint mentioned above!) by painting portraits, and perhaps even send your apprentices to the opera to increase their numbers. Points are scored mainly by painting the fresco, which requires specific combinations of colours, so you'll have to buy and mix your paints wisely – and beat the other players to the colours and fresco segments you want to paint.Fresco includes several expansion modules, so you can play without expansions for an easier family game or add expansions to change the game and increase the decision-making and difficulty, resulting in a highly customisable game with high replay value.
