The game is based on the 16th-century legend of the Golem of Prague, an anthropomorphic being created from clay by Rabbi Loew to protect his people. Players take on the role of rabbis who create and develop these mighty beings, which are then guided by students through the neighbourhoods of Prague. But be careful, because if a golem becomes too powerful, it will destroy everything in its path. Players also have the option of destroying their golems to gain extra bonuses.

Players also have the option of destroying their golems to gain extra bonuses.Players also create powerful artefacts and gain knowledge by collecting ancient books. The game is divided into four rounds, each consisting of 7 phases. At the start of each round, players shake coloured marbles in the 3D synagogue, which sorts them into five rows corresponding to the five main actions of the game: Work, Golem, Artefact, Spells, Mirror. The number of marbles in the corresponding action row determines how much a player gets from the chosen action. When you choose an action, you take one marble of your choice from the corresponding row, and depending on the colour of the marble you chose, you move your student in one of the districts of Prague. It's important to move your students along paths where you can keep control of your golems. At the end of the round, knowledge can be used to control a golem that has outrun its students, but if one of these beings escapes control, it can become dangerous and destroy the neighbourhood, and then you'll have to destroy it and bury it!The marble is also important because if you get the right combination of two colours at the end of the round, you receive the favour of one of the mighty characters of Prague, which change every round. At the end of the fifth round, players score points for active or buried golems, artefacts, books, development on their personal board and the goal cards they have collected.
