Description
Let's Party! combines two party games from the publisher Piatnik: Activity and Tick Tack Bumm. You play in teams and try to get your teammates to guess terms such as folding chair, dream job or guinea pig within one minute – by drawing, describing or miming them. But when the die shows a bomb, the game turns into a word race in which no team wants to be left holding the bomb. The first team to bring its pawn to the finish wins.
How to play Let's Party!
The active player rolls the die and draws a card. The die decides whether they draw the term, describe it in words or mime it. They have one minute, measured by the sand timer. If their team guesses the term, it moves as many spaces as shown next to it. For red terms, all teams guess at the same time.
If the die shows one of the bomb symbols, a Tick Tack Bumm task follows: you have to say a word containing the letter combination on the card or a word from a category, for example a cold drink. The bomb passes from team to team and ticks for a random 10 to 60 seconds. When it goes off, the team that last said a valid word moves forward, and the team holding the bomb moves two spaces back.
Why you will love it
- Two well-known games in one box: drawing, describing and miming, plus a fast word game with a bomb.
- The bomb goes off after a random time, so every pass is tense – the last word can decide the winner.
- All teams can guess red terms, so you have to pay close attention even when it is not your turn.
- Up to 16 players in at most four teams, which makes it perfect for parties and celebrations.
Who is Let's Party! for?
The game is for 4 to 16 players aged 12 and up, and a game takes about 30 minutes. It is easy to learn and suits larger groups, parties and family gatherings, where you split into teams of at least two players. Since you explain terms and look for words with specific letters, players need a good command of the language.
What you might not like
The game is loud and fast: you draw, describe and mime terms in front of everyone while the bomb ticks away. So it may not be the best fit for those who don't like performing in front of others or prefer calmer games with more time to think.
