In Dungeon Lords you are an evil dungeon lord trying to build the best dungeon in the world. You hire monsters, build rooms, buy traps and defeat the heroes who want to bring you down.Have you ever set out with a party of heroes to conquer dungeons and win glory, experience and, of course, rich treasure? And have you ever experienced how hard it actually is to build and manage such an underground complex full of corridors and creatures? No? Well, now you can try. In Dungeon Lords you take on the role of a lord of the underworld: summon your minions, dig a complex of tunnels and rooms, set traps, hire creatures and try to stop the filthy heroes from conquering and plundering your precious creation. We guarantee you'll see dark corners, lairs and their inhabitants from a completely different perspective!Each round, players use cards to choose where to place their workers – from mining gold and hiring monsters to buying traps and more. Each action has three spaces available – and each space has different effects (e.g. mining gold lets you dig up more gold on each space).
When using cards, two cards become locked and cannot be used on the next turn.For each game "year" there are 4 turns for playing actions, and the whole game lasts two years.
Each turn is defined as a "season". In each season, players see the heroes and events that will occur in the next season. This lets them prepare.At the end of each season (after the first), heroes are assigned to each player according to their level of evil. The heroes range from mighty champions to sneaky thieves. Each hero has their own power, which the player must prepare for.
Finally, at the end of each year the heroes enter the dungeon to fight.Scoring in the game is based on what you have built, the monsters you have hired and the heroes you have captured.
