Description
Bonfires are sources of light, energy and warmth, created by the guardians of light to illuminate the cities on an otherwise dark planet. But the city dwellers took the bonfires for granted and exploited them for their own gain. Disappointed, the guardians of light withdrew and let the bonfires go out. The townspeople could no longer live in the dark cities and had to leave them.You are a group of gnomes who live near the cities and need the light of the bonfires. Try to visit the cities and learn to kindle the bonfires again: you must visit the guardians of light on their sacred islands and ask for tasks to prove your goodwill. For every task completed, they will relight one extinguished bonfire. The winner will be whoever gains the most trust from the guardians and manages to enliven their city the most.Bonfire is played with coloured tiles that you place on the game board. When you manage to place the same colours next to each other, you receive more action tiles of that particular type. This lets you specialise in certain types of actions and pursue different strategies.
You can use the tiles to take the following actions:
- Move your ship to an island
- Take a task from an island by spending two resources
- Invite a guardian of light to your city
- Start a procession of guardians through your city and gain resources.
- Add a landscape tile to your city
- Recruit a gnome, who gains a special ability or victory points
- Seek support at the last bonfire, gain portals, resources or action tilesYou play in turn until a certain number of tasks have been solved, after which each player has 5 more turns. In the final scoring, you score points for completed tasks and completed improvements.
