Description
Granada, 1278. At the foot of the Sierra Nevada, one of the most exciting and fascinating projects of the Spanish Middle Ages begins: the construction of the ALHAMBRA.The best master builders from all over Europe and Arabia want to show off their skills. Hire the most suitable teams of builders and make sure you always have enough of the right currency. Because whether they are stonemasons from the north or gardeners from the south, they all want fair pay and insist on their home currency. With their help you can build towers, lay out gardens, erect pavilions and arcades, and construct seraglios and halls. In Alhambra, players acquire buildings that they will place in their own Alhambra complex.Money in Alhambra comes in four different currencies and is available on an open money market. 54 buildings of six types are available for purchase on the building market, four at a time; one building is available in each of the four different currencies. On their turn, a player can 1) take money from the open money market, 2) buy a building from the building market and place it either in their Alhambra or in their reserve, or 3) take part in construction and reconstruction projects of buildings already placed in their Alhambra or reserve. The game rewards efficiency: when a player buys a building on the market for the exact amount of money, they can take another action. The players with the most buildings of each of the six building types in their Alhambra score in each of the scoring phases, and points are also awarded for a player's longest continuous outer "wall" within their complex. The game ends when the building market can no longer be refilled from the supply of building tiles, followed by a final scoring, after which the player with the most points wins.
