Description
An empty landscape lies before you, waiting to be brought to life. In Harmonies you place coloured tokens to create trees, mountains, fields, rivers and buildings, and within them habitats for desert foxes, shrews and other animals. Whoever brings landscape and animals into the best harmony wins.
How to play Harmonies
On your turn you take 3 tokens from one of the five spaces on the central board and place them on your own board. Tokens can be stacked on top of each other: a green one on brown ones is a tree, grey ones together are a mountain, a red one on another token is a building. You may also take an animal card - it shows the habitat pattern you have to build to settle the animal.
The game ends when the tokens run out or when someone's board is almost full. You score points for landscapes - taller trees and mountains, fields, buildings and rivers - and for the animals you have settled.
Why you'll love it
- A single token can serve several habitats at once - the best moments come when one token lets you settle several animals.
- Every landscape scores differently, so you are constantly deciding what is worth building.
- Double-sided boards and Nature's Spirit cards bring new challenges once you know the game.
- The coloured tokens and Maëva da Silva's illustrations make the landscape on your table truly beautiful.
Who is Harmonies for
The game is for 1 to 4 players aged 10 and up, it shines most with two or three, and a game lasts 30 to 45 minutes. It is medium-light - the rules are quick to learn, yet the decisions are interesting every time. It is the right choice for families and couples who enjoy calm games and puzzles. Since everyone builds their own landscape, there is little direct confrontation.
